Advoco is a fully remote, flexible-work firm serving early-stage fintechs. We seek a lawyer who enjoys rigorous research, clear writing, and leading contract negotiations.
You will handle federal/state fintech compliance questions, draft memos, and negotiate BaaS and vendor agreements with a focus on accuracy and business impact. Requirements include a JD and active US bar, 4–7 years in fintech/banking, and experience in negotiating complex contracts and licenses.
Work from anywhere. Set your own hours. Do sharp legal work for fintech founders.
Advoco is a fractional General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer firm for early-stage fintech companies. We help founders launch products, secure bank partnerships, and build compliance programs that hold up to sponsor bank and regulator scrutiny. We're fully remote, built on flexible work, and growing faster than our capacity. This is our first attorney hire.
This role is for a lawyer who loves the work itself: digging into a hard question, getting the answer right, and writing it up clearly.
I'll hand you a client question with my initial read. You research it, verify or challenge my assessment, and turn it into finished work product: a memo, client-ready advice, or a recommended path. You'll also own contract negotiations and redlines from first draft to signature.
$140-$175/hour; salaried option at full-time
