Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (Platform) to join our FinTech Engineering team in Plantation, FL. This hands-on role focuses on building and maintaining scalable Java applications using Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x, and modern DevOps practices.

You will work with microservices, RESTful APIs, and database technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with Product Managers and senior engineers to translate requirements into robust designs,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of professional experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SonarQube.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, and PITest.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features for our FinTech application using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Write clean, well-documented, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend application functionality.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical designs and features.
• Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Debug and resolve application issues while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Help ensure software meets quality, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Suggest improvements to development processes, tools, and technologies.
• Contribute to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing engineering environment.
• Identify and help mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
