Job summary

Methodic is seeking a Fintech Business Analyst in San Francisco, CA to ensure the platform meets real-world financial requirements and regulatory demands. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather detailed requirements and translate them into product specs.

You will map financial workflows, review compliance rules across jurisdictions, and assist QA and UAT to validate features before rollout. Strong analytical, communication, and Agile skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a business analyst in financial services or fintech.
• Strong understanding of financial products and services and typical business processes.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks (AML/KYC, reporting standards, data protection).
• Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills; able to convert complex processes into actionable requirements.
• Effective communication for meetings, workshops, and thorough documentation for developers/testers.
• Experience in an Agile development environment is a plus (writing user stories, Jira).
• Proactive mindset to flag gaps and regulatory changes early for product teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to gather insights for launching financial products on Methodic.
• Document workflows and exception handling for regulatory and business processes.
• Analyze regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and translate into system requirements.
• Collaborate with product manager to prioritize requirements and clarify details for engineering.
• Assist QA in creating test scenarios reflecting real-world compliance usage.
• Participate in UAT with clients to validate features before rollout.
• Continuously research fintech best practices to propose improvements and new workflows.
