Job summary

Confidential Employer in New York, NY, is seeking a junior to mid-level transactional attorney to draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for financial services and fintech transactions. You will advise banks, fintechs, and payment processors on strategic partnerships and innovative products, and support BaaS, embedded finance, and crypto-related arrangements.

The role requires a JD and 2+ years of transactional experience, with strong drafting, negotiating, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 2+ years of transactional legal experience preferred.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, or negotiating commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with banking, payments, fintech, lending, or financial services transactions.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Active state bar admission or eligibility for admission through waiver in the jurisdiction of practice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements supporting financial services and fintech transactions.
• Advise banks, fintech companies, and payment processors on strategic partnerships and innovative financial products.
• Support Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), embedded finance, payment processing, deposit, and lending arrangements.
• Work on agreements involving co-brand credit cards, merchant acquiring, data aggregation, and BIN sponsorship programs.
• Assist with transactions involving digital asset wallets, stablecoin infrastructure, and cryptocurrency platforms.
• Independently manage components of transactions, coordinate with internal teams, and help clients navigate complex commercial arrangements.
