Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a FinOps Engineer to optimize cloud and platform spend across AWS and private clouds. You will implement cost-aware engineering changes, autoscaling, and scheduling strategies while tracking savings against budgets.

You will partner with engineering, finance, and product teams to translate usage data into impactful work and to demonstrate realized savings with robust automation and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS/CIS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong AWS engineering fundamentals with cost awareness and budgeting knowledge.
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, ECS on Fargate, and cluster autoscaling concepts.
• IaC/Dev tools: Terraform, Git workflows, Bitbucket, IDE proficiency.
• CI/CD pipelines: Harness or Jenkins; Spinnaker knowledge.
• Programming/automation: Python, JavaScript with production-grade practices.
• Financial literacy: budgets, variance analysis, forecasting and savings measurement.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate cost and usage data into actionable engineering work.
• Drive remediation: rightsizing, scheduling, and elastic scaling.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to track savings against budgets and forecasts.
• Build and maintain automation with appropriate testing, logging, and observability.
