Job summary

TALENT Software Services seeks a Data Analyst for the IT FinOps team in Mechanicsville, VA to analyze Azure and on-prem workloads and forecast cloud spend. You will build Power BI dashboards, perform variance analysis, and maintain datasets from Apptio, Azure Portal, and SharePoint to support cost optimization.

The ideal candidate combines finance or data analytics expertise with strong data visualization and modeling skills to communicate insights to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Advanced Power BI (Power Query, DAX) and Excel skills with data visualization best practices.
• Experience with data modeling and manipulating datasets from diverse sources.
• Familiarity with Azure cost management, Apptio, and cloud billing structures.
• Understanding of server migration strategies and workload cost modeling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze IT financial data across Azure and on-premises environments, including consumption and chargeback models.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize cost trends and workload impacts.
• Perform variance analysis on monthly and annual IT spend, identifying anomalies and savings opportunities.
• Maintain and enhance datasets from Apptio, Azure Portal, and SharePoint sources for accuracy.
• Document processes and procedures for financial reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with cloud, I&O, and finance stakeholders to align cost models with operations.
• Model server cost scenarios to support Azure migration planning.
• Provide insights on cost drivers and utilization patterns to FinOps strategy.
