Job summary

Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team is seeking a Finishing Working Lead for a weekend day shift (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 am–7:00 pm). In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide daily finishing operations, provide technical expertise, coach team members, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery of aerospace components.

You will read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools, while tracking in-process work and coordinating maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience, technical or military training.
  • Leadership, coaching, or mentoring in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Finishing operations, coordinating workflow and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Coach and develop team members, schedule training and career development with supervisors.
  • Perform hands-on manufacturing work: read blueprints, follow work instructions, and use precision measuring tools.
  • Track in-process work, lead tier meetings, order tools and supplies, and support daily admin.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance through ANDON/MTS systems and support CI initiatives.

Job Summary: Join Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team as a Finishing Working Lead and play a key role in leading daily operations that support some of the world's most advanced aerospace products. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will provide technical expertise, support daily production activities, troubleshoot process challenges, and help develop team members while ensuring safety, quality, and delivery requirements are met.

This is a Weekend Day Shift position: Friday - Sunday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

What You Will Do:
  • Lead daily Finishing operations by coordinating workflow, supporting production priorities, and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while partnering with supervisors on scheduling, training, and career development.
  • Perform hands‑on manufacturing work as needed, including reading blueprints, following work instructions, and using precision measuring tools.
  • Track work in process, lead tier meetings, order tools and supplies, and support other daily administrative activities.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance needs through ANDON Systems or MTS and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies while performing other duties to support business needs.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience, technical or military training, or military training experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Previous leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical or vocational training in a manufacturing-related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing systems.
