Breakthrough Productions in Mooresville, NC designs and builds custom environments for leading brands. We’re seeking a skilled Finishing & Surface Specialist to join our team, applying paints, laminates, and coatings to cabinetry, millwork, and scenic elements in a climate-controlled shop.

You’ll read shop drawings, prep surfaces, and ensure high-quality finishes while collaborating with fabrication and assembly crews to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience painting, finishing, laminating, cabinetry, or related trades.
• Ability to read shop drawings and finish requirements.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Surface prep including patching, filling, sanding, and final prep.
• Apply latex, acrylic, and specialty coatings with brushes, rollers, or spray.
• Laminate cabinets and millwork with plastic laminate.
• Trim, file, and finish laminate edges.
• Read shop drawings and ensure finishes meet spec.
• Inspect finished work and prepare for assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organized finishing area.
• Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to keep schedules.
