Job summary

Precera Medical in Minnesota seeks a finishing operator to perform various deburring and finishing tasks in a fast-paced medical manufacturing setting. You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and document work while meeting strict safety and quality standards.

Applicants should have 1-2 years in finishing, good dexterity, and strong teamwork. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under a microscope in a production line.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of finishing experience in a close tolerance environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment per 5S.
  • Interpret blueprints and follow manufacturing processes.
  • Document all job activities accurately.
  • Perform deburring and other finishing steps under microscopes.
  • Operate mass finishing equipment and assemble components.
  • Inspect deburred parts using gauges and microscopes for conformance.
  • Support continuous improvement and basic set-up of operations.
  • Cross-train colleagues and assist with line clearance between jobs.

Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 5PM - 5AM

Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing various finishing operations as qualified in a fast-paced medical manufacturing environment while strictly adhering to all applicable safety and quality policies. In addition, this position is expected to meet production standards as reflected in the ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Interpret applicable blueprints and follow all manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Complete required documentation for all applicable jobs.
  • Perform work under a microscope.
  • Repetitive deburring operations of removing surface defects from a number of parts using manual and/or electric tools
  • General cleaning of parts
  • Operate various mass finishing equipment
  • Assembly of components
  • Packaging parts
  • Bending/Broaching
  • Heat treat
  • Blasting
  • Other secondary operations as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform set-up of basic operations.
  • Independently change jobs and perform line clearance between jobs.
  • Inspect deburred parts to ensure conformance to quality specifications, using gauges, microscopes and other measuring tools as required. Follow procedures as needed to address non-conformities.
  • May cross-train other employees on basic operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience, including applying unique finishing skills
  • Experience within a close tolerance manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Basic machining exposure
  • Experience working under a microscope
  • High level of manual dexterity
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.

Compensation and Benefits Overview

Starting Pay Range for this position is $20-$24/Hour

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
