Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Finishing Operator to fill batteries with acid to the correct level and apply caps, while performing visual inspections for defects.

Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of manufacturing experience, basic math and English proficiency, and the ability to work in extreme temperatures within a high-volume plant environment. Training on specific controls will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher is required.
• 2-3 years of manufacturing/plant experience with a solid work history.
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and safety instructions.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Clean-shaven appearance due to PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate finishing line by loading/unloading batteries from production line.
• Apply caps on batteries according to type and visually inspect for quality.
• Follow quality policy and use hand tools and machine controls as instructed.
• Work in a lead-acid battery manufacturing environment with exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Lift 50-80 lbs and stand for long periods; maintain hygiene on site.
• Ensure batteries are oriented correctly as they pass along the conveyor and apply vent caps and labels.

Areas of Focus The Finishing Operator will be committed to performing the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator.

Position Overview Finishing Operator fills batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type. Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.

Responsibilities Level I

• On/Off Bear batteries from production line
• Understand and practice the Quality policy
• Use hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc.
• Work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant
• Capable of working in extreme temperatures and heavy environment is a plus
• Strong team skills
• Solve problems and recommend solutions
• All employees must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site
• Lift 50-80 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Remove caps and perform visual check to ensure that batteries are facing correctly when transmitting through the conveyor
• Correctly apply proper vent caps, ensuring a tight seal, and apply labels to batteries

Basic Qualifications
