Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Formation Operator to ensure acid level accuracy and perform visual cosmetic inspections. The role requires following safety rules and PPE usage while aligning with the company’s quality policy daily.

You will place caps, manage conveyors, identify defects, and verify correct cable connections and battery orientation. Basic math, reading in English, and prior machine operation experience are beneficial for success in this production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months–1 year of machine operator experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand basic English and perform simple math.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type.
• Stack on/off from conveyors with proper technique.
• Identify defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill).
• Analyze battery orientation and polarity during off bearing.
• Identify correct jumpers for specific battery types.
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing.
• Ensure correct marking on battery racks to aid maintenance.
• Display and use PPE correctly.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain safety standards.
• Meet all quality and production requirements.

Position Overview Formation Operator assures correct acid level and conduct a visual inspection for cosmetic defects. Areas of Focus Formation Operator complies with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE. Additionally, Formation Operator understands & practices the Quality policy day to day.

Responsibilities Level I

• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type
• Perform the proper function of stacking on / off from conveyors
• Identify all defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill)
• Analyze the correct direction of the batteries during off bearing. (Understand correct polarity of batteries)
• Identify the correct cable (jumpers) to be placed on specific types of batteries
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing
• Ensure correct marking on the battery rack to aid Circuit Tender
• Display correct use of PPE
• Perform general housekeeping
• Meets all quality requirements and standards
• Meets all production requirements

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months – 1-year machine operator experience
• Stand-up Lift / Forklift Certification
• Basic computer skills
• Read and understand basic English
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
