Job summary

McConway and Torley, LLC is seeking a Finishing Operator (Grinder) in Pittsburgh, PA. You will work with a team to grind, inspect, and finish castings to exact specifications.

Candidates should be able to operate grinders, cranes, and gauges, tolerate temperature and noise in a manufacturing environment, and be flexible to work any shift. Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds is required.

Responsibilities

• Position castings on work bench using hoist.

• Verify number and type of castings to be prepared for shipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Shift: Must be able to work any shift

What you'll do:

• Positions castings on work bench using hoist
• Visually inspects castings and notes what work needs done
• Positions and manually guides grinder or chipping hammer along specified guidelines on edge or surface of casting
• Uses production gauges to verify specifications of castings are to standard
• Verify number and type of casting to be prepared for shipment
• Performs other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

• Ability to operate jib crane, grinder, air hammer and gauge
• Knowledgeable of required specifications on castings
• Regular and predictable attendance is required
• Ability to function as a team member, establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Experience in similar or related job
• Must be able to work any shift
• Ability to Lift up to 75 pounds

Working Conditions:

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
