Job summary

Resource Label Group, LLC is seeking a Finishing Operator for the 1st shift (5:00am to 1:30pm) in Cerritos, CA. The role focuses on setup and operation of label inspector machines, visual quality control, and cutting/packing tasks.

Responsibilities include reading job specs, selecting cores, inspecting products, and performing maintenance. A high school diploma or GED and 1 year manufacturing experience are typical requirements. Wage range is $18.47-$20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of manufacturing/printing/packaging experience preferred.
  • Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements with rulers and scales.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate label inspector machines and perform quality control.
  • Read job jackets and select cores and rewind method.
  • Inspect and package products for shipment; ensure quality integrity.
  • Maintain machine and perform preventive maintenance; replace blades as needed.
  • Complete paperwork for each job and keep work area organized.

Job Description

The Finishing Operator is focused on the setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. Theywill operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives job assignments from Press Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job.
  • Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed.
  • Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products.
  • Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
  • Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped.
  • Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Remove or replace blades on inspection machines.
  • Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales, and other measurement devices.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
