Job summary

Resource Label Group in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Finishing Operator to operate and set up commercial label inspector machines, perform visual quality control, and slit materials to specified widths.

You will read job specs, select cores, monitor quality (color, die-cut, perforations) and assist with cutting, wrapping and packing converting jobs while maintaining housekeeping standards. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

• Reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job
• Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed
• Inspects products to ensure quality integrity and package products
• Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines
• Remove or replace blades on inspection machines
• Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards

The Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width.
