Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a 1st Shift Finishing Operator to run and set up label inspection equipment, slit printed material into precise widths, and perform visual quality control on a fast-paced production line at our Des Plaines facility.

You will read job specs, verify finishing specs, document results, and assist with cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging while maintaining clean work areas and performing basic machine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method
• Inspects products to ensure quality and packaging integrity
• Performs finishing and packaging tasks on converting jobs
• Monitors machine flow to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in work areas

Responsibilities

• Receives job assignments from supervisor; reads specs and selects cores/rewind method
• Reviews job jacket to ensure finishing, packaging, shipping specs are addressed
• Inspect products for quality; ensure color, die cuts, perforations and quantity
• Observe material flow to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, packaging converting jobs
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines
• Replace blades on inspection machines
• Complete paperwork and prepare finished goods for shipment
• Maintain housekeeping standards

We are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Finishing Operator to join our team! The Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width.

Responsibilities

• Receives job assignments from Press Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job
• Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed
• Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products
• Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines
• Remove or replace blades on inspection machines
• Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
