Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a 1st Shift Finishing Operator in Peabody, MA. You will operate label inspector equipment and slit material into specified widths while performing visual quality checks. Reports to the Finishing Supervisor and participates in setup, operation, and packaging of finished goods.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year in manufacturing or printing/packaging. Expect Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with possible overtime and a pay range of $18–$20

Responsibilities

• Receive job assignments from Finishing Supervisor or Team Lead; read job specifications and select correct cores and rewind method for job.
• Review job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed.
• Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products.
• Observe flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
• Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped.
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
• Remove or replace blades on inspection machines.
• Complete paperwork for each job and package finished goods for shipment to customer.
• Keep work areas clear and organized; maintain housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description For Finishing Operator

We are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Finishing Operator to join our team in Peabody, MA! The 1st Shift Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width. This position reports to the Finishing Supervisor.

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule:

Monday- Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, with occasional overtime

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales and other measurement devices.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
