Job summary

Graphic Packaging International, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, seeks an operator to form and glue flat cartons into finished cartons. You will align operations with business objectives and ensure customer expectations are exceeded while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Prerequisites include a high school diploma or GED and manufacturing experience preferred. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work various shifts; the company offers competitive pay, 401(k) with employer

Responsibilities

  • Operates machine that forms and glues cartons into finished products.
  • Adjusts forming bars and glue pots to match carton size.
  • Inspects cartons for defects and monitors machine operation.
  • Performs SAP reporting and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Operates machine that forms and glues flat cartons into finished cartons. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities Are, But Not Limited To The Following
  • Adjusts forming bars to accommodate size of box to be shaped
  • Fills glue pots with adhesive and positions rollers to dispense glue onto paperboard
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunction
  • Inspects cartons for flaws
  • SAP reporting
  • Make mechanical adjustments on machines to include, but are not limited to the following.
  • Other duties as assigned
Background / Experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime if business needs require.
