Job summary

Kurz Transfer Products is seeking a Finishing Operator to operate finishing machines, inspect jumbo stock, and ensure accurate splicing and cutting to customer specifications. The role requires setting up machines, reading orders, and using an overhead crane as needed.

The position includes shift schedules (1st and 2nd) with compensation adjustments for 2nd shift. Basic math, tape measure reading, and manufacturing experience are preferred, with forklift experience a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate finishing machines to spool, slit, rewind, or cut jumbo stock according to order specifications.
• Review orders for color, label, width, and length to meet customer needs.
• Set up machines with correct settings and tension for each order; inspect materials for proper conversion.
• Utilize an overhead crane to lift and transport product between carts and machines.
• Enter finishing information into SAP using correct scrap codes; report issues to supervisors.
• Collaborate with material handlers to minimize downtime and inspect outgoing rolls for quality.

Role OverviewThe starting pay rate for this position is $19.00 per hour, with final compensation depending on relevant skills and experience, which may exceed the posted rate for highly qualified candidates. Roles assigned to 2nd Shift schedules are eligible for an additional hourly pay differential added on top of the standard base wage.As a Finishing Operator, you'll operate a finishing machines to inspect, spool, slit, rewind, and cut jumbo stock according to customer specifications. Your accuracy and attention to detail are crucial to ensuring our customers receive high-quality products on time.Reviews orders (color, label, width, length) to meet customer needs.Setting up machines with the correct settings and tension for each order.Inspecting materials and ensuring proper conversion based on the order.Utilize an overhead crane to carefully lift and transport product from designated carts to designated machines.Operating finishing machines to precisely spool, slit, rewind, or cut jumbo stock.Pooling material from and to designated stock locations.Change blades on machines and thread through spooling components.Splices product rolls by identifying and removing defective sections with a knife.
