Steel Dynamics, Inc. seeks a Finishing Mill Shift Mechanical Technician to support our rolling operations.

This role requires rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, with emphasis on welding, cutting, fabrication, and maintaining mechanical systems related to the rolling process. You will troubleshoot high-pressure hydraulic systems, read blueprints and piping diagrams, coordinate with maintenance teams, and operate computer-based maintenance systems while prioritizing safety and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems.
• Ability to read prints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Rotating shift work including nights and weekends.
• Welding, cutting and fabrication
• Maintain all mechanical systems related to the rolling process
• Troubleshoot and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems
• Rigging, crane and mobile equipment operation
• Read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams
• Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure continued production
• Work with computer-based maintenance systems
• Safety oriented
• Strong willingness to learn
• Understanding of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry)
• Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime
• Strong teamwork focus
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assisgnments with production needs
• At least 2 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience
