Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. in Columbus, MS is seeking a hands-on Utility/Maintenance worker to support FM operations. You will safely operate cranes and conveyors, assist with maintenance checks, and ensure high safety and quality standards in a hot industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates finishing mill cranes to support FM operations
• Operates coil walking beam conveyors and associated coil handling equipment.
• Support routine maintenance activities, downturn work, mill inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
• Strong safety awareness
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently without direct supervision
• Team player who has demonstrated ability to work well with others and independently
• Quality and detail oriented
• Mechanically inclined
• Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled
• Ability to work routinely in a hot
• Repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting and walking will be required to support routine responsibilities.
