Job summary

Fortis Solutions Group is seeking a Finishing Operator in Novi, MI to operate finishing equipment, ensure rolls meet customer specifications, and perform quality verification. You will splice rolls, verify IDs, and prepare products for shipping or stock.

You will communicate issues to supervisors and maintain a clean, safe work area. Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least one year of machine operation, preferably printing-related.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Must be proactive to catch problems or inconsistencies and bring them to supervisor’s attention.
• Good organization skills to manage multiple items daily.
• Meets minimum required score on mechanical aptitude test.

Responsibilities

• Review job work instructions and set up the machine for the job, including blades, cores, and copy position.
• Operate the machine to finish master press rolls to customer specification.
• Review items and rolls for quality and consistency.
• Perform splices joining two rolls of the same product and verify product IDs.
• Verify Core IDs match work instructions for the item.
• Box finished rolls, verify core and box IDs, and route to shipping or stock areas.
• Communicate issues to Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and Scheduler.
