Job summary

Forgen, LLC. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator - Finishing Dozer Operator to perform precise finish grading of earthwork surfaces using GPS/laser grade controls.

The role includes per diem and requires coordination with survey crews to ensure elevations and tolerances are met. Ideal candidates bring multiple years of dozer experience focused on finish grading, reading grading plans, and adhering to safety plans and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years dozer operation with finish grading exposure (Operator 1).
• 5+ years dozer operation including finish grading to tight tolerances (Operator 2).
• 10+ years dozer operation with advanced finish grading and GPS/laser grade control (Operator 3).

Responsibilities

• Operate a dozer with GPS, laser, or sonic grade control for final/finish grading to specified elevations.
• Read grading plans, survey stakes, cut/fill sheets, and grade data to achieve precise finished grades.
• Perform fine grading, slopes, and smoothing to meet project specs and minimize rework.
• Coordinate with survey crews and engineers to verify elevations and tolerances.
• Use hand-held radios to coordinate tasks and resources.
• Follow safety plans, SDS, warning tags, and PPE requirements.
• Be flexible to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
