Job summary

GE Appliances in Louisville, KY is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Finishes COE to lead and execute projects supporting the Global Finishes COE Strategy. This role collaborates with Factory Operations, Technology, Supplier Quality, Sourcing and Manufacturing teams to deliver improved processes and CapEx initiatives for premium finishes.

You will own CapEx projects, develop equipment specs, analyze coating methods for quality and appearance, drive cost and quality improvements, and

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technical degree (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 2 years Advanced Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and/or Technical experience in manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of CapEx project leadership in coating/finishes.
• Understanding of statistical tools for process and product development and control (i.e. Gage R&R, Process Capability, Control Plans, SPC, PFMEA and DOE).
• Experience with coatings, physical evaluation methods and measurement techniques.
• Basic understanding of color and appearance control methods.
• Project management and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to influence and drive change within a highly matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute projects supporting the Global Finishes COE Strategy.
• Manage CapEx projects related to internal finishing operations.
• Create equipment specifications for Finishing CapEx projects.
• Provide analysis of incumbent coating methods and ensure they conform to standards.
• Own all aspects of advanced manufacturing engineering and project management for coating operations.
• Interface with coating suppliers, applicators, and manufacturing sites.
• Lead finishes improvement projects in a matrix environment.
• Identify new coating processes, tools, and suppliers to advance the business.
• Drive cost reduction and quality improvements across coatings operations.
