Job summary

Benchmark in Concord, CA is seeking a skilled finishing operator to clean, deburr, and cosmetically finish machined parts. You will read routers and blueprints, apply finishing techniques, train coworkers, and maintain a safe, orderly work area.

This full-time, safety-sensitive role offers overtime as needed and a comprehensive benefits package including bonus plan, 401(k), PTO and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

• Manual dexterity is required.
• Ability to understand blueprints and translate them into efficient work instructions.
• Good analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• 2+ years of working with related materials and processes.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or training others.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand finishing requirements from routers, drawings and specifications.
• Clean, deburr and complete cosmetic finishing of machined parts utilizing burr knife, file, emery paper, countersink, cratex scotch-brite and other tools and supplies.
• Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures.
• Complete required documents and provide supervisor with accurate daily production data.
• Train and assist co-workers with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a timely manner.
• Work at different workstations to meet production requirements.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain adequate supplies for finishing area.
• Work as a member of a team.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work environment.
• Actively promote safety, production, and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as required or directed.
• Participate in a continuous improvement activity.
