Job summary

Baillie Lumber Co. is seeking a Finished Goods Handler to support daily production near Upstate New York. You will identify the correct sort for carts, place pieces by width and length, and ensure edges are free of defects.

You should be detail oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to stand for long periods. This is a direct-hire position with benefits, overtime, and a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Identify the sort for the carts you are responsible for.
• Place each piece with the following criteria: Top, bottom and outside pieces will be the longest; All edges free of knots, wane, and other defects; Bundle must be square with edge boards against pipes; Build each bundle until full and finish with a top layer; Push out finished bundle for forklift removal.

Finished Goods Handler Details

Identify the sort for the carts you are responsible for. Placing finished products into the correct carts according to the width & Length of the pieces.

Place each piece with the following criteria:

• Top, bottom and outside pieces will be the longest
• All edges will be free of knots, wane, and other defects
• Bundle must be square with edge boards against the pipes of the cart
• Build each bundle until full and finish off with a nice top layer
• Push out finished bundle for forklift to remove

Finished Goods Handler Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older

• Standing for long periods of time, bending and stooping
• Employment is contingent on successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening

Nice to Have Skills

• Previous experience as a warehouse worker preferred
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide, read a measuring tape, calipers, digital indicators)
• High School degree preferred, but not required
