Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in Mankato, MN is seeking Finish Painters for the 4th shift. Work days are Friday through Sunday, with hours 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., on-site. Starting wage is $24.24 to $27.73 per hour, with a 10% shift differential and an additional $2.00 per hour technical differential possible after meeting CBA criteria.

Pay is bi-weekly. Requires a vocational or high school education and 6,000 hours of painting experience. Must be a sole US citizen.

Qualifications

• Mix paints following manufacturer's instructions and ensure proper color and consistency.
• Inspect finished surfaces for proper appearance and thickness; adhere to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and apply paint/finishes to products and buildings using brushes or power equipment.
• Label, store paints and chemicals; maintain and clean applicators and materials.
• Perform TPM tasks with accuracy; work with minimal supervision; dedicate ~20% of time to related painting duties.

Job Description

Follows manufacturer's instructions to mix paint materials, etc. to proper color and consistency. Must be able to prepare surfaces and properly apply paint and other finishes to surfaces of manufactured products, building, etc., with brush or power equipment. Properly label and store paint and chemicals. Clean, maintain and store applicators, supplies and materials. Must inspect finished surfaces for proper appearance and use to determine paint build thickness. Daily/weekly TPM tasks must be performed with accuracy and consistency. Minimum supervision. Six thousand (6,000) hours of experience required to perform work, attain skills necessary. Performs other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below. Finish Painters are required to work a minimum of twenty (20) percent of each week on painting (and related) duties.

Education and Experience Requirements

A vocational or high school education or equivalent is required plus on-the-job training to learn trade techniques and procedures.
