Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an experienced Finish Blade Operator to safely operate a finish motor grader on our road and infrastructure projects in Tucson, AZ. You will work with earthwork crews to meet design elevations, follow survey stakes, blue tops, and maintain equipment in safe condition.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of heavy equipment experience, 3–5 years in finish grading, and familiarity with Trimble GPS or similar technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years operating heavy equipment in construction.
• 3–5 years focused on finish grade preferred.
• Experience with surveying concepts (stakes, blue tops) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a finish motor grader to perform fine grading and finish work to meet tolerances.
• Engage in fine grading, slope shaping, and finishing of subgrade, base courses, and final road surfaces.
• Follow design specifications and blue tops for precision work.
• Interpret survey stakes and blue tops to ensure grading meets elevations and specs.
• Perform routine safety inspections on the motor grader and maintain equipment in safe condition.
• Communicate with the earthwork crew and supervisors to ensure efficient, accurate work.
