Job summary

Handyman Connection of Bozeman is seeking independent finish carpenters who want flexible hours and steady project flow in the Gallatin Valley.

You set your own hours, choose projects, and will be paid $40-$60 per hour with bonuses; our local office handles calls, billing, and scheduling so you can focus on craft.

Qualifications

• Finish carpentry experience required with proven project work.
• Ability to operate finish carpentry tools safely and accurately.
• Knowledge of installing hardwoods, softwoods, MDF, and related products.
• Ability to follow building codes and manufacturer instructions during installation.
• Reliable attendance, professional communication, and respectful customer interactions.
• Personal tools and a reliable vehicle for transporting them to sites.
• Valid driver’s license and smartphone for scheduling.
• Proof of commercial insurance coverage.
• Montana Independent Contractor Exemption Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Successful background check and credential verification.
• Samples of recent finished work.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Demonstrated experience completing finish carpentry projects, including [list the specific project types].
• Ability to safely operate the tools required for the assigned work, including miter saws, routers, chisels, planers, finish nailers, and precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of installing hardwoods, softwoods, MDF, and other specified wood products.
• Ability to complete work in accordance with applicable building codes, manufacturer instructions, and accepted installation practices.
• Reliable attendance, professional communication, clean work habits, and respectful treatment of customers' homes.
• Personal tools required for the work and a reliable truck or van suitable for transporting them.
• Valid driver's license and smartphone for scheduling and work-related communication.
• Required commercial insurance coverage, with proof of coverage.
• Montana Independent Contractor Exemption Certificate, or willingness to obtain one before beginning work.
• Successful completion of a background check and verification of the credentials required for the role.
