Job summary

Freeman’s Ltd in Chicago is seeking a Property Associate to ensure inventory is accurately tracked, stored cleanly, and properly tagged for auctions of fine art and decorative items. You will unpack, log, catalog, and move property, assist with previews and exhibitions, support shipping, and help maintain a secure dock and warehouse.

Flexibility for extra hours and physical tasks is required. A high school diploma and at least one year of packing experience in art or similar field is preferred,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 1 year packing items from small objects to large furniture.
• Experience with gallery installations and hanging flat property is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and handle incoming property from consignors, including fine furniture and art objects.
• Conduct condition checks and document any damage or irregularities.
• Log, tag, and catalog all property in the company database with accurate inventory.
• Track, trace, and resolve issues with missing property across departments.
• Move, store, and package property safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized dock and warehouse area, including disposal of packing materials.
• Assist the Property Department with setup and breakdown of exhibitions and previews.
