Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond invites applications for the Financial Success Program Manager within the VCU Financial Success Center by VACU. You will guide and counsel students on personal finance, budgeting, debt reduction, and college financing, with a focus on persistence to graduation and student well‑being.

The role leads peer coaches, delivers workshops, collaborates with campus partners, and analyzes program data to drive improvement, all in a campus-based, in-person

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and two+ years in financial wellness, education, coaching or student services.
  • Knowledge of personal finance, financial literacy, and coaching principles.
  • Experience developing, facilitating, coordinating programs, events or outreach initiatives.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication; able to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends and travel within the Richmond area.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Peer Financial Coaches.
  • Manage scheduling, workflow, and daily operations for the coaching team.
  • Deliver individualized financial coaching and manage a caseload.
  • Develop financial education programming and lead workshops.
  • Lead outreach, marketing, and communications efforts for the Center.
  • Analyze data to inform program improvements and report outcomes.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support student success.
