  • Confers with technical staff as required to provide detailed information pertaining to pay that may affect reports or systems as well as to accommodate pay systems/procedures to the requirements of sound accounting.
  • Provides technical advice to system analysts in designing and programming the automated systems. Works with technical specialists in application of data capture, transmission, and processing technology to modernize pay systems.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as:

Applying financial laws, regulations and policies as they relate to financial systems operations; testing, and updating user documentation for financial systems.

For Entry At The Gs-12

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as:

Researching and interpreting financial laws, regulations and policies to ensure the continuity and compliance of a financial system's design and operations; performing systems analysis, testing and support of automated financial systems.

This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment. If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
