Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP seeks a Financial Systems Developer to support and customize financial systems. The role requires Aderant expertise, advanced SQL/SSRS skills, and end-user support across IT and business partners.

The candidate will maintain, test, and implement customizations, participate in month-end closing, and develop reports and interfaces. Remote work is possible with office proximity to Dallas, New York, or Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, finance or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with an Aderant firm.
• Advanced Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL skills required.
• Experience with the Aderant Expert suite required.
• Working knowledge of the Aderant Expert programming environment and security setup, including DocuDraft, Design Studio, End User Painter, Report Writer, View Editor, Security Manager and other customization tools.
• SSRS, SSIS and VBA knowledge required; PowerShell knowledge preferred.
• Advanced proficiency and extensive experience in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and customizing financial systems: Aderant Expert Classic, Aderant Expert Framework, iTimekeep, Expert Image, Generic Importer, Intapp Open, Chrome River, BillBlast and others.
• Develop inquiries and reports as needed.
• Initiate/monitor/document interfaces between financial databases and applications.
• Customize/modify financial systems’ front-end and back-end (database) as necessary.
• Assist with the creation and modification of bill templates and check formats.
• Participate in month-end closing activities.
• Assist with testing new customizations, software releases and upgrades; provide Help Desk support for financial systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Serve as a liaison with the IT department and other internal business partners.
• Other duties as assigned.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Financial Systems Developer in the Finance department, reporting to the Financial Systems Manager.

This role is able to work remotely but must reside near the Dallas, New York or Washington, DC office. The Financial Systems Developer will beresponsible for assisting with maintaining, supporting and customizing financial systems.The Financial Systems Developer should have experience with the Aderant Expert suite and a working knowledge of its database tables and structure, along with advanced SQL skills and knowledge of SSRS and system integrations.The role will involve creating custom inquiries and reports, testing and implementing customizations, end‑user support and working as a liaison with the IT department and other internal business partners.The Financial Systems Developer must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative and accurately complete projects in a timely fashion.The Financial Systems Developer is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing exceptional service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.

The anticipated base salary range for this position in New York is $145,000 to $190,000. The anticipated base salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $145,000 to $175,000. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, years of relevant experience, certifications or other professional licenses held, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and the location from which the work will be performed. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.
