Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
• Specialized experience is defined as: Experience performing core functions within an automated financial system, including accurate data entry, processing transactions, and retrieving information.
• Specialized experience is defined as: Proficiency in use of automated financial systems to analyze and validate transactions, records, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes.
• Applies financial management analysis knowledge of automated systems and related regulatory and statutory requirements to identify financial management problems.
• Examines a wide variety of documents, records, and related reports, and processes, to determine whether performance has been in accordance with GAO procedures and appropriate regulations.
• Performs quality control examinations of operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls including the analysis of data and information with the objective to prevent and detect deficiencies in the operation of functional area systems.
• Performs analysis and makes recommendations for corrective or enhancement actions to ensure the adequacy of the internal control operations.
