Job summary

Bayer in Muscatine, IA is seeking a finance professional to help manage costing, budgeting and monthly close for the site. You will develop the annual operating budget, cost rollups, and periodic cost estimates, collaborating with operations and site leadership to understand drivers of financial performance and variances.

You will support forecasting and reporting to the Site Controller. The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, or Accounting, and strong Excel

• Currently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Must be able to commute daily to Muscatine, IA.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop the site annual operating budget.
• Develop annual product cost rollups for product cost standards.
• Analyze cost center spending and value flow against the operational plan.
• Develop periodic cost estimates.
• Be accountable for account reconciliations and communicate significant impacts.
• Collaborate with site leadership and operations teams to understand financial drivers.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with Capital vs. Expense guidelines.
• Explain changes in individual product standards through analysis.
• Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for Crop Protection sites with functional leaders.
• Analyze and communicate actual performance against budget and forecast.
• Provide written feedback on variances against budget and forecast to the Site Controller.

Job description

In this role, you will report to the Enabling Unit Lead and become actively involved in projects and initiatives that require applying financial knowledge to a wide range of situations with varying degrees of complexity. You will support proper costing of products and inventories, as well as timely monthly financial closing and reporting of manufacturing variances for a chemical manufacturing site.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop the annual operating budget for the site;
• Develop annual product cost rollups for product cost standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and error resolution;
• Analyze cost center spending and value flow (assessments) for consistency with the operational plan;
• Develop periodic cost estimates;
• Be accountable for account reconciliations and communicate significant impacts;
• Collaborate with site leadership and operations teams to ensure drivers of financial impacts are understood;
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with Capital versus Expense guidelines;
• Conduct analysis and explain changes in individual product standards;
• Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for Crop Protection sites in partnership with functional leaders;
• Analyze and communicate actual performance against budget and forecast;
• Develop analysis and provide written feedback to the Site Controller for variances against budget and forecast.

Key Working Relationships

This position will support the Site Controllers in providing product cost and financial support to the manufacturing site.

Education

Currently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Willingness to work in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $20.75 to $58.50. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
