Job summary

Ruveon is seeking an intern/co-op in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering to gain hands-on experience in our Crop Science division at Soda Springs, Idaho. You will work closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams to support process improvements and project development.

The role requires enrollment in an engineering degree, sophomore or higher, and a willingness to work in a chemical plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • Sophomore year or higher and returning to school after internship/co-op.
  • Ability to drive to and from work location.
  • Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and Learn: Partner with engineers to enhance chemical processes, improve yields, reduce waste, and cut cycle times.
  • Project Development: Help shape project objectives by analyzing stakeholder requirements and basic design packages.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure projects align with engineering standards and Safety/Environmental regulations.
  • Manufacturing Insights: Understand maintenance, procurement, and reliability programs in chemical plants.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform and verify calculations using standard methods.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct cost, feasibility, and planning studies with data-driven recommendations.
  • Daily Collaboration: Team with production staff for process troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Operational Excellence: Support implementation of the Operational Excellence program and Lean initiatives.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Manufacturing Insights: Work with facilities and reliability engineers to understand maintenance, procurement, and reliability programs in chemical plants;
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform and verify engineering calculations using standard methods and principles;
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies, providing recommendations based on stakeholder needs and data analysis;
  • Daily Collaboration: Team up with production and technical staff for process troubleshooting and problem-solving;
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the implementation of our Operational Excellence program and support site-wide Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering;
  • Successfully completed Sophomore year or higher and returning to school upon completion of intern or co‑op;
  • Ability to drive to and from work location;
  • Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment;
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week and physically willing and able to climb stairs and ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
