Job summary

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Branch Health Clinic Groton, Groton, Connecticut.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

• Review and research data obtained in the current medical records, dental records, and billing systems to identify billable encounters.
• Verify with third party payers or other health insurance parties.
• Validate correct billing and post checks as third-party insurance payments into the current billing system.
• Reconcile accounts, prepare, analyze, examine and maintain reports and account data.
• Accomplish work processes by using numerous manual and automation systems and software programs.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This Position requires the employee to Obtain Financial Management Certification Level 2 within " 2 Years of Employment, Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
