This is a reinstatement, transfer, or voluntary demotion opportunity for current and former regularly appointed employees of Alameda County.
Pursuant to Civil Service Rule 1744: On the request of a department head and approval of the Commission, a regularly appointed employee who resigned in good standing may, within three years after the effective date of resignation, be reinstated in a position in the same class or in another eligible class as determined by the Commission. Appointments are subject to the probationary period for the class. You must have been a classified County employee in the same or a comparable job code and left the County in good standing. You must also meet the minimum and special qualifications of the position.

Alameda County's Health Services Program is administered by the Alameda County Health Department, which includes Behavioral Health Care, Public Health, Environmental Health, and Agency Administration/Indigent Health. The mission is to provide integrated health care services through a network of public and private partnerships, ensuring optimal health and well-being while respecting diversity.
Under direction, to provide professional financial services including budget development, contract negotiation and administration, financial planning, monitoring, reporting, and grants management for County departments and agencies. Responsibilities also include conducting studies, financial analysis, and administrative work. Positions are typically at the Financial Services Specialist I/II level, with opportunities for promotion based on experience and proficiency.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license may be required.
Knowledge of governmental budget development, contract and grant administration, financial record-keeping, applicable policies, and computer applications such as Microsoft Office. Skills include developing budgets, monitoring transactions, conducting studies, interpreting regulations, leading others, preparing reports, and effective communication.
