Job summary

Carter Bank in South Boston, VA seeks a Financial Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for customers, guiding them through everyday transactions and basic banking needs with a proactive, personalized touch.

You will build relationships by asking questions, offering appropriate products, and routing customers to the right services, while upholding compliance and delivering an outstanding banking experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college a plus.
• Experience in customer service and/or sales required.
• Retail bank or related industry experience preferred.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of customer services including transactions, account servicing, opening new accounts and product referrals.
• Deliver exceptional customer experience through proactive engagement and solutions that build trust.
• Identify customer needs and generate referrals to support financial goals.
• Resolve basic customer issues and escalate unresolved items for research as needed.
• Follow branch processes and comply with policies, procedures and regulations.
• Support the bank's strategic plan to grow retail banking business.
• Meet or exceed sales goals through targeted activities and referrals.
• Pursue career development via training, coaching, and learning opportunities.
• Participate in bank events to increase visibility and acquire new customers.
