Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Financial Services Audit Supervisor to lead audit, review, and compilation engagements across client industries, ensuring high-quality service in line with US GAAP.

The role requires a CPA, at least 3 years of public accounting experience including leading engagements, and strong leadership and client-communication skills. Travel is required as needed; offices include NY metro and multiple NJ/FL locations. Competitive benefits and bonus apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a valid CPA license.
  • At least 3 years of public accounting experience, including leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
  • Experience auditing healthcare systems and hospitals is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills; familiarity with US GAAP.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills and excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engagement team in planning and execution of audit, review, or compilation engagements.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations: staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
  • Provide supervision and support to staff, seniors, and supervisors, promoting open communication with the engagement partner.
  • Collaborate with engagement seniors or partners on client issue resolution and recommend solutions for legal, regulatory, and accounting matters that arise.
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
  • Create and track engagement budgets, reviewing for inefficiencies.
  • Conduct constructive discussions with team members on evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
  • Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.

Compensation and Benefits
  • NewYorkCity: $90,000 – $165,000 annually
  • East Brunswick: $85,000 – $175,000 annually
  • Orlando: $85,000 – $130,000 annually
  • Red Bank: $85,000 – $140,000 annually
  • Whippany: $100,000 – $135,000 annually
  • BocaRaton: $85,000 – $130,000 annually

The base compensation is complemented by a competitive benefits package and a bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are determined by role, location, and qualifications.
