Job summary

Wayne Wire Cloth Products, Inc. is seeking a General Accountant to maintain financial integrity, drive inventory best practices, and deliver cross-functional financial recommendations.

You will work with the Controller and Cost Accounting teams to analyze data, establish rates using ABC standard costing, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities include financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliations across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–4 years accounting experience in a small-to-medium manufacturing environment.
• Proven cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Robust ERP experience with Financials, Suppliers, Customers, Inventory, BOMs, Purchasing; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial studies, analyze trends and prepare actionable recommendations for budgets, forecasts, policies and operational improvements.
• Partner with Cost Accounting to analyze data, establish/update rates and audit inventory practices to optimize cash flow.
• Assist in creating monthly financial statements, ratios, budgets, forecasts and governmental reporting requirements.
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts across all companies and provide backup for A/P and A/R; support cross-functional teams and train peers.

Job description

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a knack for cost accounting and process improvement? As our General Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial integrity, driving inventory best practices to boost cash flow, and delivering cross-functional financial recommendations to executive leaders. You will work closely with our Controller and Cost Accounting teams to analyze financial data, establish rates using ABC Standard Costing, and identify cost-saving or profit-generating opportunities.

Financial Analysis & Strategy:

Conduct financial studies, analyze trends, and prepare actionable recommendations for budgets, forecasts, policies, and operational improvements

Cost Accounting & ABC Standard Costing:

Partner with Cost Accounting to analyze financial data, establish/update rates, and audit inventory best practices to optimize cash flow

Financial Reporting & Planning:

Assist in creating and publishing monthly financial statements, ratios, budgets, forecasts, and governmental reporting requirements

Reconciliations & Accounting Support:

Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts across all companies to ensure complete accuracy, while providing backup support for A/P and A/R as needed

Serve as a key team member across cross-functional groups, answer financial inquiries from clients and vendors, and assist with training or providing direction to peers

Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is required

Experience: 2 to 4 years of accounting experience in a small-to-medium-sized manufacturing environment

Cost Accounting Expertise:

Proven hands-on experience with Cost Accounting in manufacturing

ERP & Software Mastery:

Robust ERP experience (across Financials, Suppliers, Customers, Inventory, BOMs, Purchasing) alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word/PowerPoint/Outlook

Key Traits:

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, communication, and planning/organizing capabilities

Primarily an office setting with occasional exposure to background manufacturing noise and moving mechanical parts on the floor
