Job summary

Primary Recruiting Services in Exton, PA is seeking a Lead Technical Accountant to drive technical accounting research, prepare memos, and analyze complex contracts as the company grows.

You will partner with engineering and cross-functional teams, support SEC filings, and contribute to scalable financial reporting while interacting with senior leadership in a growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and research ability on complex matters.
• Ability to interpret complex contracts and identify accounting considerations.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and applying guidance to transactions.
• Ability to communicate accounting concepts to non-accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research and prepare technical memos.
• Research accounting implications of new contracts, acquisitions, and initiatives as the organization grows.
• Partner with external auditors for quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Qs and 10-Ks).
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to determine accounting treatment for contracts.
• Support financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as a primary accounting resource for leadership, interfacing with CFO and Controller.
• Own projects and initiatives in a hands-on environment with impact potential.
• Help build and improve accounting and financial reporting processes as the company scales.

• Research accounting implications of new contracts, acquisitions, and other business initiatives as the organization continues to grow
• Partner with external auditors in preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks
• Partner with engineering and other cross-functional teams to understand contract terms and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for accounting matters
• Support the company’s financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Serve as a key accounting resource for leadership and gain direct exposure to the CFO and Controller
• Take ownership of projects and accounting initiatives while working in a hands-on environment where there is significant opportunity to make an impact
• Contribute to building and improving the company’s accounting and financial reporting processes as the organization continues to scale

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience researching complex or nonroutine accounting matters
• Ability to understand complex contracts and identify relevant accounting considerations
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and the ability to apply accounting guidance to real-world business transactions
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate accounting concepts to non-accounting professionals
• Strong analytical, research, writing, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of projectsComfortable operating in a growing environment where responsibilities may evolve as the company expands

Preferred Qualifications:

• Combination of public accounting and industry experience
• Big 4 or national public accounting experience
• Experience in a technical accounting or financial reporting role
• Experience supporting a publicly traded company and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience with acquisitions or other complex transactions
• Experience working within Manufacturing, Aerospace, or similar industries
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and work closely with senior leadership
• Interest in growing into a Controller-level role as the company continues to expand
