Job summary

Opportune LP in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join the Financial Reporting team. You will supervise staff, review journal entries, and prepare lease operating statements and other financial reports on a client-by-client schedule.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least five years of experience, with public accounting preferred. Strong communication, time-management, and BOLO proficiency are valued in our hybrid office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong professional presence with effective verbal/written communication.
• Exceptional time-management and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of internal financial reporting staff.
• Support and review required journal entries.
• Develop, maintain and provide lease operating statements, financial statements, and other financial reports as defined, and on a closing schedule set by each client.
• Assist with new client set up.
• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Support the financial reporting close process.

Job description

The Accounting Supervisor will serve as a key member of the Financial Reporting team and will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of timely financial statements for clients and leading staff-level employees. This position is in our Northwest Houston, Texas office with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following (as needed):

• Assist in supervision of internal financial reporting staff
• Support and review required journal entries
• Develop, maintain and provide lease operating statements, financial statements, and other financial reports as defined, and on a closing schedule set by each client
• Assist with new client set up
• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis and account reconciliations
• Support the financial reporting close process

Qualifications:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
• Public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Must have strong professional presence and effective verbal/written communication.
• Exceptional time-management, planning and administrative skills are required.
• Proficiency with BOLO is preferred.
