Xplora Search Group is partnering with a large, established organization to recruit a Manager of Financial Reporting for its corporate accounting leadership team. The role oversees close processes, statutory reporting, and cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Tax, Legal, and Treasury to strengthen reporting controls.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with financial statement prep, regulatory filings, and audits.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and analyses.
• Manage financial, statutory, and regulatory reporting deliverables and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals and provide performance feedback.
• Review complex accounting analyses and ensure proper application of guidance and presentation.
• Coordinate reporting calendars, prioritize workloads, monitor deliverables, and resolve issues.
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting processes; identify automation opportunities (AI-enabled tools).
• Coordinate audit support and assist with regulatory examinations and documentation.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Regulatory to understand financial results and implications.

I'm partnering with a large, established organization with a complex, highly matrixed operating environment to identify a Manager of Financial Reporting to join its corporate accounting leadership team. This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated corporate structure with multiple legal entities, complex financial reporting requirements, and extensive cross-functional collaboration.

Reporting to senior accounting leadership, the Manager will oversee financial close, financial statement reporting, and statutory and regulatory reporting activities while leading a team of accounting professionals. This individual will partner with stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and other business functions to strengthen reporting processes, enhance internal controls, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, reporting packages, and variance analyses.
• Manage financial, statutory, and regulatory reporting deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and support for professional growth.
• Review complex accounting analyses and conclusions, ensuring appropriate application of accounting guidance and financial statement presentation requirements.
• Coordinate reporting calendars, prioritize workloads, monitor deliverables, and resolve outstanding reporting issues.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes while identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate audit support and assist with regulatory examinations, compliance reporting, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Actuarial, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Regulatory, to understand financial results and reporting implications.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, including the responsible use of AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or a related finance function.
• Previous experience managing or formally supervising accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements; familiarity with statutory accounting principles and NAIC guidance is highly desirable.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and review, regulatory filings, reporting packages, and audit coordination.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• A proactive, adaptable leadership style with an interest in continuous improvement and technology-enabled process enhancements.
