Job summary

Jobtailor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, seeks a seasoned Accounting/Finance professional to produce credit union financial reports, analyze data, and support reporting across the organization.

You will ensure all reports comply with current accounting standards and NCUA requirements, assist with audits, and help project short- and long-term organizational goals using Excel, SQL, Power Query and Tableau.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of Accounting or Finance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Produce Credit Union financial reports and conduct analysis within the department and across the organization
  • Assist with the compilation and analysis of financial data and preparing reports for presentation/approval for both internal and external reporting purposes
  • Ensure that all reporting adheres to current Accounting Standards, NCUA requirements, and industry best practices including coordination and resolution of all audit and regulatory examinations
  • Compile, review, analyze and evaluate financial data for use in projections for short and long-term organizational goals
  • Assist with competitive peer analysis incorporating company and industry knowledge, mathematical and technical expertise, and solid analytical processes
  • Assist with, understand, and review Financial Statements for internal reporting needs
  • Assist with, understand, and review regulatory filing reports including the NCUA Call Report Form 5300
  • Assist with the calculation for the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) ensuring regulatory compliance with the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) standard
  • Maintain reporting databases and ensure database validity and accuracy
  • Assist with the annual NCUA exam and other audit requests

Requirements
  • Five or more years of Accounting or Finance experience
  • Financial Institution and reporting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in financial analysis required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, with emphasis on Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Detail oriented with ability to plan, organize, and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under a high degree of pressure
  • Experience with Empyrean financial reporting software
  • Ability to query raw data using Microsoft Power Query and SQL knowledge
  • Experience with Tableau
