YOUR ROLE

As a Finance team member, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial strength and flexibility that enables us to be there when our policyholders need us – now and in the future. You will support the USLI Controllership team in various aspects of accounting and reporting under the direction of a financial manager. In addition, you will drive efficiencies in reporting while maintaining a focus on timely execution and accuracy that supports the Controllership team.

What you will be doing

  • Record and analyze financial transactions on both a U.S. GAAP and Statutory basis
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Prepare wires and any accompanying journal entries
  • Handle reinsurance accounting and reporting
  • Support businesses and functional areas, including our life insurance actuarial team, on questions and issues to drive enhanced collaboration
  • Cross-train to enhance professional development and enrich the work environment
  • Work on special projects as necessary

What you bring

  • BS or BA in accounting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams
  • Strong critical thinking skills

Nice to have

  • Licensed CPA
  • Insurance or financial services experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience recording financial transactions in Oracle general ledger system

ADDITIONAL

For the State of New York : The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $79,200 up to the maximum of $134,700. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 7% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
