Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking an Associate or Intermediate Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team. You will participate in monthly and quarterly closes, assist in SEC filings, and support internal controls across the global organization.

You’ll report to the Manager – Financial Reporting in the Reporting and Consolidations Department. The role emphasizes analytical thinking, accuracy, and collaboration with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and business unit finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proactive problem solving with attention to detail.
• Experience with Excel, SAP, and Oracle EPM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close including consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare consolidation, lease accounting, intercompany eliminations, and related variance analyses.
• Assist in the preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K with footnotes and disclosure schedules.
• Review regional financial statements and support internal controls over financial reporting.
• Administer quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley 302 process within Workiva.
• Assist in implementing new accounting standards and lease accounting.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and BU finance teams.
• Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and information requests.
• Participate in process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Maintain documentation of accounting processes and financial reporting activities.
