Job summary

Madison Professional Group seeks an experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join its wealth management platform as a direct client-facing advisor. You will deliver proactive, personalized financial planning and integrated solutions to help clients progress toward goals beyond the traditional review cadence.

You will work with an established client base, deepening relationships through frequent planning conversations, retirement and wealth planning, and holistic advice.

Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 required.
  • Ability to obtain required insurance license within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial services experience.
  • Experience working directly with clients in a financial planning/advisory/wealth management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of investment management and financial planning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and conduct scheduled virtual planning meetings.
  • Review client financial plans, portfolios, goals, and activity to identify opportunities.
  • Proactively reach out to clients for planning conversations beyond annual/semiannual reviews.
  • Lead planning conversations around retirement readiness, income, Social Security, tax efficiency, estate planning, healthcare, college funding, cash flow, and other priorities.
  • Model scenarios using planning tools to develop personalized recommendations.
  • Connect investment strategy to broader financial plan and long-term objectives.
  • Conduct discovery to uncover changing needs and life events.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists when needed.
  • Move clients from planning conversations to implementation.
  • Manage appointments, preparation, outreach, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Maintain documentation within the technology-enabled advisory platform.

Job description

Our client, a leading financial services organization with a significant national and international footprint, is seeking experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join its growing wealth management and advisory platform. The Financial Planning Specialist (FPS) delivers proactive, personalized financial planning and integrated financial solutions designed to help clients make confident decisions and progress toward their financial goals.

A key focus of this role is deepening client relationships beyond the traditional annual or semiannual review cadence. FPSs proactively identify opportunities for additional planning conversations based on changing goals, life events, retirement decisions, tax considerations, portfolio strategy, and other financial priorities. Operating within a team-based, technology-enabled advisory model, the FPS works with clients across retirement planning, investment management, comprehensive portfolio strategy, tax-efficient planning considerations, estate planning, and broader wealth management objectives. This is a direct client-facing advisory role supporting clients who already have managed investment relationships with the organization.

A Day in the Life

Your day is centered around meaningful client conversations, proactive financial planning, and deepening existing relationships

You will work with an established base of clients. Your focus is not on building a book from scratch—it is on creating more frequent and relevant financial planning engagement

  • Connect investment strategy to each client’s broader financial plan and long-term objectives
  • Conduct thoughtful discovery to uncover changing needs, priorities, and life events
  • Coordinate with internal specialists when additional expertise is needed
  • Help move clients from planning conversation to implementation
  • Manage scheduled appointments, preparation, proactive outreach, implementation, and client follow-up
  • Maintain strong documentation and operational discipline within the organization’s technology-enabled advisory platform
Required Qualifications
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 required
  • Ability to obtain required insurance license(s) within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial services experience
  • Experience working directly with clients in a financial planning, advisory, or wealth management capacity
  • Strong understanding of investment management and financial planning principles

  • Experience working with managed investment solutions and managed portfolios
  • Experience delivering comprehensive or goals-based financial planning

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus variable compensation, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Total compensation range with variable compensation target: $137,500-151,500.
