Job description

The FP&A manager will serve as a strategic business partner supporting a private equity-backed, multi-site construction organization. This role is responsible for transforming operational and financial data into actionable insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, growth initiatives, and value creation.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with experience in construction operations, project performance reporting, business intelligence, and executive-level reporting. The position works closely with the CFO to develop scalable dashboards, reporting solutions and performance analytics across multiple operating companies and locations.

This is a new position and will need to be someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves.

Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting for executive leadership.
  • Create automated reporting solutions to improve visibility into operational and financial performance.
  • Consolidate and analyze data across multiple business units, regions, and construction sites.
  • Design and maintain self-service reporting tools for operations and finance teams.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for management and investors.
Construction Operations Analytics
  • Analyze project performance, job profitability, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor key construction metrics including:
  • Backlog
  • Work-in-progress (WIP)
  • Change orders
  • Bid-to-win ratios
  • Safety performance
  • Project margins
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across active projects and operating locations.
  • Partner with CFO and operations leaders to improve forecasting accuracy and project execution.
Financial & Private Equity Reporting
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, working closely with the CFO.
  • Develop reporting packages for executive leadership, lenders, and private equity sponsors.
  • Analyze business performance against strategic objectives and investment theses.
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence, integration reporting, and synergy tracking.
  • Support board meeting materials and investor presentations through data-driven insights.
Data Management & Governance
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple source systems.
  • Develop data models and standardized KPI definitions across operating companies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CFO, CTO, IT and business leaders on data governance initiatives.
Advanced Analytics
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making to the CFO.
  • Develop predictive models for project outcomes, resource planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Conduct profitability, customer, market, and operational performance analyses.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and actionable format.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, finance analytics, or operational analytics.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Data modeling
  • Business performance analysis
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in construction, engineering, industrial services, manufacturing, or field-service organizations.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed company.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct construction ERP and project management systems.

Compensation:
  • $120-150k + 10% bonus
