Job summary

BioWave Corporation seeks a highly analytical Accounting Team Lead/FP&A professional to oversee core accounting operations and lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a growing medtech company. You will partner with operations, sales, and leadership to provide actionable insights and drive strategic decisions.

The role reports to the Controller in a hands-on, small-company environment and requires strong Excel, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills to

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Hands-on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience.
• Experience in a small or mid-sized company preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations.
• Oversee monthly close processes with the Assistant Controller.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support audits, tax filings and external reporting requirements.
• Analyze revenue drivers, gross margins, operating expenses, and working capital trends.
• Prepare monthly management reporting packages with variance analysis vs budget.
• Track KPIs related to sales, manufacturing costs, inventory and R&D spend.
• Improve FP&A processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy; scale financial infrastructure.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-onAccounting Team Leadand Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professional to oversee core accounting operations while leading financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a growing medical device company. Reporting to the Controller, this role will partner closely with operations, sales, and leadership to provide actionable insights, improve financial visibility, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-company environment, is comfortable building processes, and can operate at both a strategic and detailed level.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Assist in Leading Accounting Department Day-to-Day Operations
• Assist the Assistant Controller with monthly close processes
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support audits, tax filings and external reporting requirements
• Analyze revenue drivers, gross margins, operating expenses, and working capital trends
• Assist in preparing monthly management reporting packages with variance analysis versus budget and prior periods
• Track and analyze KPIs related to sales performance, manufacturing costs, inventory, and R&D spend

Operational & Systems Support

• Improve FP&A processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy; help scale financial infrastructure as the company grows
• Support ERP, budgeting, and reporting systems enhancements
• Assist with scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, and strategic initiatives

Required Experience/Skills

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably in medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, or regulated industries
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, preferably using BI tools
• Experience working in a small or mid-sized company environment strongly preferred
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel required; experience with QuickBooks and Salesforce preferred
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance ( CPA or MBA a plus)

Pay & Benefits Summary

• Base: $90,000 – $100,000
