About the Role
We’re seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounting & FP&A Analyst to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support both financial planning & analysis and core accounting operations, providing insights that inform decision-making while ensuring accurate financial records. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment and is comfortable working cross-functionally to support strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- • Own and execute the monthly and annual close process, including reconciliations and journal entries
- • Prepare Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and assist with full financial statement preparation
- • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- • Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business performance
- • Analyze financial results and prepare summary reports and dashboards for leadership
- • Partner with business units to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and model scenarios
- • Support cash flow analysis, revenue forecasting, and cost control initiatives
- • Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and support dashboard reporting
- • Identify and implement improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting
- • Support audits, tax filings, and other regulatory compliance needs
- • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate monthly closes
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
- • 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or FP&A (SaaS or startup experience a plus)
- • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Maxio for reporting and reconciliation
- • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of financial modeling
- • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
- • Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and journal entries
- • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights
- • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and meeting deadlines
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills
- • Experience supporting external audits or tax filings is a plus
- • Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP is a bonus
